Nexcom Naval Commissory

In April a contract was awarded to construct an on base commissary for the Navy Exchange Service Commission (NEXCOM). The commissary was to be the NEXCOM equivalent of a 2,640 square foot modular mini-mart. The commissary's main purpose was to expedite the supply and distribution of domestic items for Naval personnel prior to deployment on- and overseas.

NEXCOM required that this modular facility be operational within 90 days. Previously scheduled projects where rescheduled in order to provide American service personnel with the resources they need in the time frame required.

The building specifications, and final construction, consisted of the following: vinyl siding, rubber membrane roof, storefront doors, clear span ceiling, and increased floor load design. This building was connected to previously existing warehouse by way of fully automated double-doors and a ramp system designed to quickly restock inventory.

The modular facility was completed in 90 days, providing true American heroes with the conveniences that we take for granted while these brave service men and women travel far from home to protect us.
